Belly Dance Instructor
Keiya Mavita has been Belly Dancing since she attended her first class in 1997. She quickly became a fixture in the thriving New Orleans music scene, performing at great venues in the city such as The State Palace Theater, The Red Room, and House of Blues. In 2001 she was assistant director of the tribal fusion dance troupe Deeply Rooted. She then went on to southern California and attended the World dance program at Orange Coast College were she studied Middle Eastern, African, Modern, Ballet, and Classical Indian dance as well as Pilates and Yoga. She has been teaching since 2005 and has developed her own unique teaching style that focuses on body mechanics, technique, and helping women connect with their inner Goddess while learning a fun and ancient style of dance that is great for women of all ages shapes and sizes. Keiya has graced stages from the west coast to the east and has had the opportunity to study with some of the biggest names in the Belly Dance community. She can be found teaching and performing at festivals and conventions all over the country.
